Requirements for New Residential Customers
Murray Electric System hopes to simplify the electric application process by asking all new applicants to follow the simple guidelines outlined below. All new accounts will need to supply the following in order to set up service.
Social Security number or Green Card
Government issued pictured ID (Drivers License, State Issued ID card or Military ID), or Passport, or Birth Certificate
Copy of Lease or Rental Statement Form (rental customers)
Completed MES service application
(MES service application must have Social Security numbers of all persons over the age of 18 living at the location)
Murray Electric System will then collect a deposit determined by the applicant's credit risk as indicated by the Online Utility Exchange system. Murray Electric System will hold service if a customer is unable to provide any of the above listed identification in yellow. Furthermore, if any of the above listed identification in a "red flag" warning when ran through our Credit Reporting Agency service will be held until the warning can be removed. Failure to authorize Murray Electric System to run a credit check for new service will result in the maximum deposit being collected.
